Kathmandu. The Gokarneshwor Municipality has set limits on the operation hours of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment businesses at night. In order to ensure the safety and peace of the city residents, the municipality has issued a notification and advised that these businesses should not be operated after 10 pm.

According to the municipality, this step has been taken in view of the increasing problems of noise pollution, alcohol consumption, and anti-social activities, which have adversely affected the peace and security of the city and created inconvenience for the local citizens.

Gokarneshwor Municipality has implemented new norms, 2081, under which no hotel, restaurant, or entertainment business of any kind can be operated after 10 pm.

If the businessmen operate their business after the specified time, legal action will be taken and the business will be shut down, Mayor Deepak Kumar Risal said.
