Routahat. The District Court of Rautahat has sentenced four people, including Nepali Congress leader Mohammad Aftab Alam, to life imprisonment after finding them guilty in an incident that took place in Chait in 2064.
On Thursday, the bench of Justice Matrika Prasad Acharya sentenced Alam, his brother Mahtab Alam, Shesh Seraj, alias Shesh Saraj, and Badri Sahani to life imprisonment.
He was convicted by a court in Rajpur of Rautahat for killing those injured in a bomb blast in Rajpur of Rautahat on September 27, 2064. They have been sentenced to life imprisonment, i.e., 20 years, under the Domestic Violence Act 2020, which was in force at the time of the incident.
While Mukti Sah has been acquitted, Shrestedar Dhodari informed us that Mohammad Movin, Shesh Fazal, Shesh Bhadai, Sagir Alam, Gaurishankar Sah, and Shesh Malakar are absconding as the case has been kept pending.
