Kathmandu. A new working committee has been elected under the leadership of Chandramani Gautam from the 5th convention of National Folk Journalists Nepal. The new 15-member working committee was elected unopposed at the 15th Annual General Meeting and 5th Convention of National Public Media Nepal. Established in 2065 B.S. under the leadership of Govind Giri, Giri led the National Folk Journalist Nepal for two terms, while Hari Ballav Nepal held the leadership from 2071 until now.
Sudarshan Prasad Acharya was elected as the senior vice president of National Folk Journalist Nepal; Hari Dulal was elected as vice president; Kamal Sargam was elected as secretary; and Shivram Bhandari was elected as joint secretary. Similarly, Sharan Prasad Humagain was elected as treasurer, and Kalpana Regmi was elected as joint treasurer.
Similarly, Sabita Pokharel, Gopikrishna Chapagain, Baburam Sigdel, Shikhar Gajarkote, Tul Bahadur Pariyar, Karishma KC, Kabiraj Dhakal, and Binita Kunwar Chhetri were elected as members. Shri Prasad Thapa and Arjun Ghimire were on the election board, chaired by Advocate Ramchandra Shrestha.
In the event, Krishna Kandel, the adviser of National Public Broadcaster Nepal, expressed his commitment to cooperate in any situation for the rights of media workers and said that he would provide one lakh rupees to the organization. He said that he will always be with the journalists who are involved in the upliftment of folk art, literature, and culture to reduce the anomalies and distortions in this area.
The 5th convention and 15th General Assembly, chaired by Hariballav Nepal, President of National Folk Journalist Nepal, founding members Shri Prasad Thapa, Gaurav Pokharel, Shyam Dhital, Krishna Lekali, Suman Bairagi President of the Music Arts Journalists Association, Kuber Giri Vice President of the Film Journalists Association, and others, were present as guests.
