The water level of the Yamuna River in Delhi reached 206.04 mm on Monday night. After that, the flood control department issued an alert for rain in the capital today. Citing the latest bulletin of the flood control department, news agency ANI reported that the water level of the Yamuna river at the old railway bridge in Delhi was recorded at 206.4 mm on Monday night.
As the Yamuna rises, people from the coastal areas have started moving to nearby higher ground. The water level of the Yamuna is continuously rising due to the water released from the Hathinikund barrage in the neighboring state of Haryana. On Monday, Delhi government minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that once the water level rises above 206 meters, people will start shifting to other places.
