In the wake of growing COVID-19 threat across the world, the Nepali Government has pressed the emergency button, directing for shut down of public places where mass gatherings happen. #StaySafeStayHome
A high-level committee meeting led by Deputy Prime Minister Ishwor Pokhrel on March 18, 2020, ordered to close down theaters, malls, cultural centers, playgrounds, gyms, health clubs, museums and swimming pools, among others until April 30, 2020.
Likewise, the government also postponed SEE 2076 examinations scheduled to take place from March 19, 2020, and suspended all other educational activities till April 12, 2020.
Meanwhile, the Nepali Government has also decided to restrict people coming from the European countries, Gulf countries, Iran, Turkey, Malaysia, South Korea and Japan from March 20 – April 15, 2020.
So far, the coronavirus has spread to 176 countries and claimed 8,969 lives while infecting 219,345 people.
