Kathmandu.

Two chairpersons of the ruling Nepal Communist Party have held a meeting in Kathmandu on Tuesday. However, they did not make any progress in resolving a dispute between them.

“KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal discussed various issued for around one hour, but did not make any conclusion,” a source privy to the meeting says, “They are likely to hold another round of meeting tomorrow.”
Owing to a dispute between the two leaders, the party’s ongoing standing committee meeting has been postponed till coming Friday.

When the meeting began last week, Dahal and a majority of the standing committee demanded that Oli resign both as the prime minister and the party chair. Oli, however, has been refusing to budge, pushing the party into a standstill.
Since then, Oli and Dahal have met several times, mostly one-on-one, but to no avail.
